I painted. I packed. I panicked.

// August 26th, 2009 // Alltag, Amsterdam, Neuigkeiten, Niederlande

Well, mildly panicked but I panicked a bit: so much to do, so little time before I headed off to Amsterdam (FYI: from now on either AMS or A’dam) yesterday, 25th of August 2009 @9.42am on the dot (well, seeing it was Deutsche Bahn, of course we had already minor delays) from track 15.

But the title hints off how I spent the day before changing countries.

By now I have a bank account, kicked off the registration progress and still try to figure out HOW to PROVE that I am NOT married. I kid you not. When I was at the registration office at the city hall that’s exactly what they want to have.

You gotta love that!

Prove you are NOT m-a-r-r-i-e-d. Maybe I should drag the English man over here to them and when they ask the questions he laughs his behind off which should indicate quite a clear answer.

Anyhow, the easy the bank stuff was, the trickier finding a flat turns out to be. Or not. Everyone tells you this is a little overcrowded place so go and figure.

  1. adam says:

    Proof that you’re not married? Was your man hating, feminist agenda rhetoric not enough to convince them you are lesbian?

    As for city names, I’d like to offer the obvious hamsterdam (thanks the Wire), stripeypantsland (SPL) or bigpricesmallbeercountry (BPSBC).

    Germany is quiet without you here going mental over something or nothing :(
